The Midwest Bible School began in the summer of 1962 at Hanover College, situated on 650 acres of land overlooking the Ohio River in southern Indiana.
"Bless This School", by Mary H. Brahe, was instituted as the school song, and is still used each year. "Welcome, welcome to the Midwest. Brothers, sisters, children too..."
Some of first teaching staff included Regina Bennett, Maurice Stewart, Mary Higham, Louise McDonald, Virginia Zimmerman, Betty Styles, Evelyn Robinson, Ruth Adams, Gar Cooper, Howard Philips, John H. Craig, Mary Sommerville, and Aude Plew.
The Midwest School was held at Hanover College for six years, until moving to the Northwood Institute in West Baden Springs, Indiana. Beginning in the summer of 1980 the MWBS moved back to Hanover College.
